Electrification
609 route kilometres electrified in 1995-96.
634 route kilometres to be electrified in 1996-97.
Target of Eighth Five Year Plan of 2,700 route kilometres will be achieved.
A total of 12875 route kilometres electrified upto 1995-96.
Private Investment
Plan funds to be supplemented by private investments under 'BOLT' and 'Own Your Wagon' schemes.
Konkan Railway Project
760 kilometres long railway line nearing completion.
Project to be opened by October, 96 for goods operation and for passenger operations by December, 96.
